Dermal Filler

Dermal filler treatments are an excellent and safe method of helping to restore your skin to its former youthful appearance. As we age the fats and collagen in our face reduces, which can produce lines on our faces – such as the nose to mouth lines, or lines around the mouth.

Dermal filler can be used to plump out these lines so they are no longer visible. The process of line appearance usually starts from the age of 25, which is when the collage and fat in the face begins to diminish.

Where can dermal filler be used?

Dermal filler injections are composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a type of non-permanent filler that is naturally broken down over a period of months. It can be used in various points around the face safely, quickly and with great results.

It is very important that the correct filler is chosen for you. Fillers come in all different viscosities – some are very thick and need to be injected deep into the skin, whilst others are less viscous and are used in the top layers of the skin.

How does dermal filler work?

As our skin ages the fat and collagen in our skin begins to reduce which makes our skin thin and more wrinkled. Dermal filler treatments work by plumping the skin back to its youthful appearance. The dermal filler is injected into different layers of the skin to diminish the appearance of wrinkles. It can also be injected to bring volume, for example when plumping the lips or extenuating the cheek bones.

Sometimes you may need a combination of anti wrinkle injections and dermal filler to achieve your desired results. Our practitioners will discuss this with you.

What to expect

In the initial consultation we go through a medical history and create a tailored treatment plan based on your aesthetic requirements.

Once happy with the treatment plan we will book in a day for you to come back for the actual treatment. This gives you a chance to reflect and look over the treatment plan for yourself.

On the day of the treatment we go through consent forms and review the treatment plan with you again and run through any questions you may have before treatments start.

After the treatment we will give you a after care guide and run through any do’s and don’ts with you post treatment, answering any questions you may have.
